About Us
Debbie Cockrell is a self confessed polymath; a person with a wide range of interests and knowledge
spanning multiple careers and over 15 years in the Hospitality industry. This ranges from her start in
hospitality as a chef to waiteressing both locally and internationally, being a restaurant manager in the 5
star hospitality industry, to hotel school lecturer. She is passionate about creating an experience using
food, wine and people to connect.
The past 9 years has seen a career change in the development sector, working closely at community
grass roots level and learning the importance of people and sensory learning approaches linked into
how we interact as people.
Having identified the challenges on the South African landscape when it comes to poor customer service
influenced by learning styles, cultural dynamics and social inequalities, she believes that a more practical
approach is required to disrupt the way in which we offer customers an experience on the Johannesburg
restaurant scene. Through this consultancy, she wishes to up-skill service staff using a sensory based
holistic learning approach which ensures practical application in the workplace. Finding customizable
solutions to your service needs is her goal.
